This series was created in Zion National Park as part of a week long student Artist Residency. I created this installation series in hopes that others would see it and recognize that each of us makes a difference in our environment. Each installation was created using man-made glass pebbles, in a deep purple that was inspired by Southern Utah painter, Jim Jones, and his love for the purple in the shadows of the red rock. The juxtaposition of man-made and natural reminds me of the impact we each have on our surroundings. All materials were packed in and packed out in order to maintain and preserve the nature around the piece. Installations were set-up, photographed and taken down all within a short period of time. Only a lucky few saw the creation and installation of the pieces, as they were never left alone.
